Recovered summer layer

The euonymus has filled back into a dense golden-and-green canopy, with hostas and heuchera making a strong lower layer below it.

Season notes
A clear follow-up to the spring regrowth photo: this is the variegated Japanese euonymus, not Sunshine ligustrum. Its recovery is now substantial enough to read as the focal shrub in this foundation-bed pocket.

Regrowth after hard prune

New leaves pushing from cut stems — the euonymus refusing to quit after being taken way back.

Season notes
Hard-pruned in spring. The fresh variegated growth coming back from bare wood is a good sign — euonymus is tough and recovers well from aggressive cuts. Let it fill out through summer before shaping again.
