Living silk.

A small life. An extraordinary universe.

THE ART OF LOOKING CLOSELY

Colour made of light.

The shifting blues of a Betta are structural: microscopic layers reflect different wavelengths as you move around it.

Scales: Reference-textured overlapping scales on a volumetric body, with subtle surface relief and angle-dependent iridescence.
Fins: Seven flexible fins, supported by rays. The fish powers each stroke; water bends the membranes and carries their trailing edges.
Life: Beating pectoral fins, a flexing spine, head-led turns, coordinated bursts and glides, quiet hovering, and an occasional gulp of air at the surface.

An artistic anatomical study informed by six GPT-generated reference images—not a scientific reconstruction.
